Contest Flyer

What should your Area/Divison Contest Flyer look like? Here are some tips from Marianne Phillips, DTM.

  • 1 - 2 pages
  • Advertise your theme if you have one – click here for ideas on themes and locations.
  • State on the first page Area/Division, your theme, date, location and times for registration, briefing and beginning and fee if there is any.
  • Make it nice looking and use some illustrations.
  • Please remember that all commonly used printers have margins - keep your content within that margin. (A good rule of thumb is 0.5" all the way.)
  • Your flyer should look good no matter whether printed in color or in grayscale.
  • Use the back page for a map and driving directions.
  • Include a name and/or phone number/email address for possible questions.
  • Get your flyer ready in time and distribute it abundantly to your clubs and for posting on the web (see instructions below).

For posting on the web:

  • Please submit a Word document or a PDF file.
  • Please submit only a finalized version of your flyer.
  • Please help reducing the email traffic within District 50 and submit you flyer only to: webmaster@toastmastersd50.org
  • Please share this information with all of your helpers who are involved in the process.
  • Do not use a solid background for your flyers. Even though a solid red or blue flyer with white lettering looks good on the website, it uses entirely too much ink when you print it to take to your club.
  • Create flyer with a white background, black lettering and a splash of color with graphics. It may not look as dramatic on the web, but your printer will love you.
